Gebruik authenticatie in twee stappen voor de beveiliging van je account bij Google, Apple, Microsoft en elke andere belangrijke account. Waarom? Het is eenvoudiger dan je denkt om je wachtwoord te stelen en er worden elk jaar grote bedrijven gehackt waarbij miljoenen wachtwoorden worden gestolen, mogelijk ook die van jou. Ben je benieuwd of jouw account wel eens is gehackt lees dan het bericht hierover! Twee staps authenticatie wordt ook wel twee staps verificatie genoemd.
Elk van de volgende normale acties kan ervoor zorgen dat uw wachtwoord wordt gestolen:
– Hetzelfde wachtwoord op meerdere sites gebruiken.
– Software downloaden op internet.
– Klikken op links in e-mailberichten.
Dankzij authenticatie of verificatie in twee stappen kun je ongewenste personen buitensluiten, zelfs als ze jouw wachtwoord hebben. Stel je voor dat je geen toegang meer heeft tot jouw account en alles in jouw account. Wanneer iemand jouw wachtwoord steelt, kunnen ze jou buitensluiten uit jouw account en de volgende handelingen uitvoeren:
– Al jouw e-mails, contactpersonen, foto’s, enzovoort bekijken of zelfs verwijderen.
– Zich als jou voordoen en ongewenste of schadelijke e-mails verzenden naar jouw contactpersonen.
– Jouw account gebruiken om de wachtwoorden voor uw andere accounts (bankieren, winkelen, enzovoort) opnieuw in te stellen.
Het principe van twee staps authenticatie
De beveiliging van twee stappen is erop gebaseerd dat er twee dingen gecontroleeerd worden bij het inloggen.
- Of je iets weet, meestal je wachtwoord
- Of je iets hebt, jouw telefoon waarop je een code afleest om te bewijzen dat je die telefoon in je bezit hebt
